Day 16

Aug 14th

Woke up this am, took hot shower, ate breakfast, sat down pulled out the Good Book, (really need to get back to reading that more often, which is why when I go OVER THE ROAD, I am not going to have a TV in my truck, I am going to work on studying the bible and work on memorizing verses. Any way got to work today, met a new student, who actually started yesterday so technically was day 2. Not really fair to through him into the mix because we are 3 weeks into class, and after our class is over the trainer is going out of the country for a vacation, so guessing he will be on break from class that week as well. Anyway, I quickly went over pre-trip with him, to show verbitge how it was to be said, and after watching my driving partner and me do it, he stuck his sheets in his back pocket and said "Can I try?" Uh sure, so he went through it pretty well, for being day 2 for him, I was impressed with his knowledge. While we were doing that, 2 classmates went out and drove through town, our regular truck went into the shop Friday and Monday for repairs, and since I was sick last Thursday I hadn't driven since 10 sp since last Wed, from the sounds of it everyone had a little bit of back slide in driving, but that is to be expected, when you go through a few days of not driving. I wasn't even perfect had a couple goof ups, but we are all doing great. Have met some really great people, who will be great drivers. After lunch our new student and I were sitting in the range truck (because it does not have legal tags on it we can only use it on the driving range and not on the road)and he said he and his wife follow my blog, and I had mentioned yesterday in my blog that I was started my day in the bible, and we got to talking, he is a fellow believer and we had a really great time fellowshipping with each other, so he is going to be a quick learner AND is a Brother in Christ. We got him started on the backing, straight line and right side off set and for someone who has NEVER Driven a big vehicle like that, he did surprisingly well, then one of the students decided we were going to walk him through the alley dock, now when we started backing we just worked on getting the maneuver down, then eventually after a few days we put up a "wall" we set orange cones (apparently they don't use as many in construction zones here in Tennessee like we do in Kentucky) anyways when you go to take your state CDL Driving test, you have to be able to get your tractor trailer into a dock and do it with only 70 feet, not an easy task considering your truck is 70', so you have to learn to finesse it around the corner to get it into the dock. Needless to say he was pretty spot on UNDER the 70' wall and only used a few pull ups. He is doing AMAZING and will catch on pretty quick. Near the end of the day my driving partner and I went out driving, around town, let's just leave it at that, tomorrow will be better. All and all a great day, I actually enjoy getting up out of bed in the morning seeing what the good Lord has in store for me and know that I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me. I just have to remember I can't do ANY OF THIS, everything I am doing is by God's doing

Coincidence (new student and myself)we both got saved around the same time, both talking about a life of degradation and how THROUGH CHRIST We were made a new. We Christians AREN'T Perfect, we are all sinners and all fall short of the Glory of God, BUT BY God's GRACE we have been saved. When I restarted on my journey to get back into the trucking world, I never thought I would meet so many amazing people would actually have fun at work, and meet a brother in Christ, I'm not saying there are not many Christians out there, and not everyone comes right out and says I'M A CHRISTIAN and that is okay. It was kind of neat we talked a little bit about dad, today and I said you know it wasn't until AFTER Dad died, did I realize our WHOLE Life he was showing us how to be a Christian through servitude towards other, and giving unconditionally and loving others with out ever asking for anything in return. God calls ALL of us to be servants to others, it says in John 13:34-35

34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another, dad did that on a daily basis, he was never big and open about his Love for other's or even his love for God, but he didn't in by SHOWING other's Christ's love, by serving others. It's sad that it took my dads untimely death to realize that, he really loved all of us, and even though he didn't say "I Love You a lot to us kids, he SHOWED US EVERYDAY in his own little ways. Christ did this also, he served others, you read many many parables in the bible, healing the sick and blind, raising the dead, feeding the hungry, washing other's feet, baptizing them. We should all be more Christ like, stop looking out for ME and start Serving other's and Loving others.
You know other religions to get salvation  (If they even believe in that) you have to DO things, you have to say a certain amount of prayers, you have to donate something you have to be a good person, and help other's to be nice... Other  Religions spell Salvation DO...You have to DO something to earn it, Christians through Christ spell salvation DONE, we have to do NOTHING but ask God for it...IT, John 3:16-17 For God so Loved the world that he gave his ONLY Son, that Who ever shall believe in him shall not perish but have ever lasting life, God didn't now send his son into this world to Condemn it, but to save it through him. All you have to do is ACCEPT HIS PRECIOUS GIFT, ask and you shall receive, knock and the door will be opened, if you are thirsty God is the Living water, drink and be thirsty no more.

Remember his greatest commandment
LOVE ONE ANOTHER AS GOD LOVED US
