FINALLY LOVE MY JOB

I have finally landed at an amazing company, in Crum Trucking out of Batesville Indiana. Everyone I have met and worked with, office staff, customer service, customers, other drivers, even the amazing staff in the shop who keep the trucks up and running. You hear a lot of companies claim to be "family oriented" companies, I have been to a couple different companies claiming that and I know for sure CRUM is the only true family oriented company, the head of the company, his sister, his wife, their kids ALL Work here. No One is "better" then anyone else, I could walk into the owners office ANY TIME I want or personally call or text him on his cell phone 24/7 365 days a year. You will rarely find anyone revealing their titles, not because they don't have them but because the believe that shows status. We all know who the head guy is but you better call him by his first name and not SIR or Mr Crum. Are the trucks Perfect BRAND NEW TRUCKS? NO, but they are very well maintained Volvo with 10 sp Eaton Fuller Manual transmissions, with cummins engines. I have had ZERO issues with the truck, (okay I have one cabinet door that won't stay closed but guess what Duct Tape fixed that issue) the pay is great, you get paid % instead of CPM which means you make MORE money. Most of the runs here are dedicated not to a company but you go to the same customers either daily (which is what I am working on right now) or even weekly, so you drive the same routes, get there the same time and know how the customer operates. You get to know the employees at the customers, you develop a repour with them. Oh here is the Awesome thing, Crum has grown by word of mouth, we have NO SALES Department if we are hauling to or from YOUR company it's because someone in the company was familiar with Crum and recommended we haul for them, not because a pushy salesman came in and smoothed talked them. 
  Our shop is 24/7, if you come after your trip at 3 am or 4 pm there will be a TEAM of Mechanics in the shop and turn around time for MAJOR things is PDQ. 

I can finally say "I LOVE MY JOB AGAIN" 
Like Confucius said "Find a job you love and you will never work a day in your life" 
CRUM Is this job, WHAT AN AMAZING COMPANY 
sometimes you have to wait for GOD's Perfect timing 
He doesn't always show up when it's right for US but he ALWAYS shows up when it's right for HIM.

Day 4

August 2     More Pre-Tripping today, the flow is getting easier, now have to hammer in the wording and make sure it's just right. Don't want to get in front of the examiner and miss anything. Do I expect to be perfect? No, but also don't want to fail because of forgetting something minor or stupid, and I just don't want to commit it to memory, I also want to learn what and why. Spent more time on the range going backwards and now everyone but one has their CDL Permit and he is testing tomorrow. So far I work with a great group of people, who are all doing really well considering we are being trained to take a 40T missile and scoot down the road at a reasonable speed, there is a lot more to this then sticking the nose in the wind and giving it some go go juice, I mean yes we will be in Automatics sure and that is all you do, but there is SO much more responsibility to that. Schneider Day #3 Done

10/11/2018 What an amazing day at work. Really loving my new job and new company. We switched it up from yesterday, those who drove first were on the yard, the other's went on the road. Did more "alley docking" 100% nailed it each and every time, and each and every time I felt more and more comfortable about it. Still some employees who are still struggling, and I hope they get it but they might not, and if not who knows what happens with after that. Was kinda funny because Yesterday it was raining all day but it was warm. Today it wasn't raining but was chilly, or so the other's in my class claim. It started out around 51 this am and then moved up to about 55 with a nice breeze. I was the only one out there with out a jacket or coat. Told them if I could get away with it I would be wearing shorts, however because we are on the yard they don't allow them it's cool I will obey their rules, but bet your butt I will be in them all the time in my own truck.

Day 1 Schneider Attempt #2

Oct 02 2018      After arriving at Training Center on 10/03/2018, went in for my DOT Physical, and the Dr. said my glands in my neck were swollen and my throat was hurting and was just feeling under the weather. Well because of the swollen glands and sore throat they decided to send me home. So went to family Dr. who diagnosed me with Viral Sinus Infection, but NO FLU. So sat at home and rested for the week and called my recruiter to get set up for this week. (one benefit of such a large company this orientation starts every week)         10/08/2018        Arrived back in Indianapolis around 20:00, got to the hotel and find out they have no rooms available, and I need to call Schneider Travel center to make other arrangements. So I called them and they had NO Record of me supposing to be here, and no idea what to do. Well I told her I am NOT driving all the way home, and we need to figure something out.
