Schneider Orientation Day #2

October 10 2018          Didn't sleep worth a crap last night, tossed and turned and kept waking up, afraid I was gonna over sleep and miss the shuttle to school. Any way got to school, and updated our log books, and went out to the yard, were we got our instructions on expectations and what we would be doing. We split up into 2 groups of 14 ( we have about 6 trucks we use), half of us went to drive on the road and half stayed on the yard. I got to drive first. We just went around town, when we got to a stopping place to switch drivers. When we stopped he looked at me and said "Okay, you have a little more driving experience then others don't you?" I said uh yeah. He said "Well just hang with us for this short time and you will get along just fine and be a great employee, I don't have any issues with your driving" Well that is humbling, but thank you.     Back to the yard for slow speed maneuvers, MY NEMESIS the alley dock, ugh, how I loathe thee. ...

Day 1 Schneider Attempt #2

Oct 02 2018      After arriving at Training Center on 10/03/2018, went in for my DOT Physical, and the Dr. said my glands in my neck were swollen and my throat was hurting and was just feeling under the weather. Well because of the swollen glands and sore throat they decided to send me home. So went to family Dr. who diagnosed me with Viral Sinus Infection, but NO FLU. So sat at home and rested for the week and called my recruiter to get set up for this week. (one benefit of such a large company this orientation starts every week)         10/08/2018        Arrived back in Indianapolis around 20:00, got to the hotel and find out they have no rooms available, and I need to call Schneider Travel center to make other arrangements. So I called them and they had NO Record of me supposing to be here, and no idea what to do. Well I told her I am NOT driving all the way home, and we need to figure something out. So for the time being th...

New Job

Been a few minutes since I posted last, been couple changes in my life and have been silent and I apologize.       After my last post, there were some issues arise with Titan that I am not going to get into but after a lot of thought and prayer and discussion with my wife, I have decided to end my employment with Titan. I have signed on with Schneider National (A LOT MORE MONEY Starting off) and will be on a dedicated route hauling for Haverty Furniture Distribution Center in Fairfield Ohio, traveling to Braselton, GA, Mobile Alabama and Lakeland Florida . Sunday Eve -Thur Eve will be night time driving mostly which is fine I like night driving, less traffic. I have to go through simple 3 week Orientation (this is for driver's who went through a private trucking school and have zero driving experience, but since I have 12,000 miles this will be quick review) Week One we will be doing new hire paperwork, working on pre-trip (Not that one, the one they want you to do for...

Was September 11th predicted in the Bible

Bible Verses are in black I will add my commentary in RED 1 After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven. He had great authority, and the earth was illuminated by his splendor. If some pictures, people say they saw angels in the smoke, other's said they saw images of Satan in the smoke. 2 With a mighty voice he shouted: “ ‘Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great!’ She has become a dwelling for demons and a haunt for every impure spirit, a haunt for every unclean bird, a haunt for every unclean and detestable animal. Pretty Self explanatory  3 For all the nations have drunk the maddening wine of her adulteries. The kings of the earth committed adultery with her, and the merchants of the earth grew rich from her excessive luxuri...

Week in review

Wow what another wonderful week on the road as a student. Started out meeting my NEW trainer in Louisville, we mounted up and headed west bound with a load to Phoenix Arizona, first night we stopped at Pacific Missouri in an interesting truck stop which sat on a good hill. Friday Morning we woke up and drove to Amarillo Texas for the night and a decent truck stop. Saturday we rolled into Phoenix Arizona LATE Saturday Eve. Because my trainer had started his 70 Monday, we had to do a reset. So we sat there for about 36 hours. Delivered Monday morning, then headed south to Nogales Arizona, which is right on the border between Arizona and Mexico, and drop off a trailer and grab a loaded trailer and head to Lithonia Georgia. Got to go through 2 Border Crossings. First one rolled up to, rolled down the window, Officer looked at trainer and me asked "Are you both US Citizens?" "Yes Sir" "Alright drive safely" Well that was easy, ( go check out the idiots who refu...

The Eagle has landed

Sept 8 2018     Okay not really but after this week it sure feels like it. What a crazy short week it has been, started out in Thursday Morning at Home, drove to Louisville to meet my new trainer, and down the road we went, I am up to about 7 1/2 hours of driving, (each week it goes up, so by week 5 the students are at 11 hours of driving) We got to know each other, seems like we are going to be a good fit. Our first night landed us just West of St. Louis in a small truck stop (see pics on FB) seemed like we had to walk a mile to get from the back lot down a hill, down 3 flights of steps to the building. We got up after our 10 our break, and boogied on down the road for a couple miles. We finished Friday Night in Amarillo Texas. It really is an amazing job to think I can be in my own bed Thursday morning then by Friday night be half way across the country in Texas. We woke up showered and got on down the road really pushing for our final in Phoenix Arizona for a Monday mornin...

Quick Update From The other day

Sept 6   Just a quick update, as most of you know I was off the first couple days this week because of pinkeye and also I had a stye on my eye but got that cleared up and I’m back on the road we’re currently heading west towards Phoenix Arizona and then from there we will probably either go out to California or down to Tucson and should be able to get back in Louisville sometime next Friday afternoon or evening I will update on here when I can, really glad I came to this company need to really think my wife and kids for allowing me to pursue my dream of doing this although the next seven weeks are going to be difficult they will be doable and they’ll go by pretty quickly my new trainer and I will be staying out about two weeks at a time which will hopefully get me through training and make it seem like it’s going faster at least then I can get into my own truck and start making some real money. Thanks for traveling with me, have a great day and weekend and I will update this whe...
